The way internet now is monetizing. Many form of monetizing concept. the traditional way is ads. Since google introducing adsense, then publishers get the change to monetize their website or blog, now many ads network provide the same ads scheme.
As a web 2.0 rolling, now we can socialize trough social network site. One of this media is twitter, place to tweet anything, spread to the world all about your thought even promoting your products or services.
Magpie, an ad network for twitter where twitterer can monetize there tweet and advertisers can reach million of followers. Twitterer's monthly rate is depend on how many followers they had.

That's a good chance, just don't forget to use twitter as it should be, socialize with others. I hate to see people only tweet about a product or website like a robot.
